MLA - Member of Legislative Assembly
Member of Legislative Assembly is a representative selected by a Legislative Assembly. In India, each state has between 4 to 9 MLAs for every Member of Parliament (MP) that it has in the Lok Sabha.
There are some basic criteria for becoming a Member of the Legislative Assembly: a candidate must be an Indian citizen and must not be less than 25 years of age. Also, if a person is not a voter from any constituency of the state, he/she can not become the Member of the Legislative Assembly.
