What is the Full Form of NRLM?
NRLM - National Rural Livelihood Mission
National Rural Livelihoods Mission is one of the flagship programmes of Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), Government of India. Started in June 2011, the mission was launched with the motto of improving the living standards of rural youth who are poor.
With the budget of $ 5.1 billion, NRLM is the world's largest programme to improve the livelihood of poor.
Aajeevika Skill Development Programme (ASDP) is one of the most important programmes under NRLM. The programme focuses on improving skills of youth from a poor background, and enter the skilled workforce in the formal sector.
ASDP also focuses on building strong relationships with employers and run different training and placement programmes in partnership with public, private and non-government organizations. Their target is to train and place 50 lakh youth by 2017.
